The Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) is a public institution that was founded in 2018. It is the fourth public university offering health professions training in Zambia. With an onsite capacity for 3,000 students, the LMMU main campus is the largest purpose-built health training institution in Zambia.
The University is a National Hub for training health workers and coordinating training in all the 10 Provincial Hubs. Its 2019 inaugural enrollment had a total of 4, 362 undergraduate students enrolled into various courses at its campuses in Lusaka, Kabwe and in the Provincial Training Hubs.
